Mailchimp
Mailchimp has been my go-to platform for years, but I mostly gave up it. There support is generic and there platform “Templated”. Anyways, it’s incredibly user-friendly and offers a robust set of features that cater to businesses of all sizes.
Pros:
- Intuitive interface with drag-and-drop email builder
- Extensive template library with modern designs
- Powerful automation features, including customer journey mapping
- Comprehensive reporting and analytics
- Wide range of integrations with other tools and platforms
Cons:
- Pricing can get expensive as your subscriber list grows
- Customer support can be slow and annoying, especially on lower-tier plans
In my experience, Mailchimp’s strength lies in its ability to grow with your business. The learning curve is gentle, making it ideal for beginners, but it also offers advanced features for more experienced marketers.

Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)
Brevo has been gaining traction in recent years, and I’ve found it to be a solid alternative to Mailchimp, especially for those looking for an all-in-one marketing solution. Brevo is my GoTo-Platform for e-commerce websites do it have all the features you need.
Pros:
- Offers email, WhatsApp and SMS marketing
- Flexible pricing based on email volume rather than subscribers
- Good automation features, including a visual workflow builder
- Includes a (basic) CRM system
- Multilingual support
- Multi website support
- Great e-commerce automation features
Cons:
- The interface can be a bit clunky at times
- Expensive to use there marketing automation features
- Email builder is very basic and not very intuitive
- Template designs are not as modern as competitors
I’ve particularly appreciated Brevo’s pricing model, which allows to have a large contact list without breaking the bank. The inclusion of WhatsApp Marketing and a basic CRM system makes it a versatile choice for businesses looking to consolidate their marketing tools.

MailerLite
MailerLite is the newcomer of the bunch, but it’s quickly become one of my favorites for its simplicity and affordability.
Pros:
- Extremely user-friendly interface
- Affordable pricing, even for larger lists
- Decent automation features for basic needs
- Excellent customer support
- Built-in survey and pop-up features
- Good form builder
Cons:
- Limited advanced features compared to Mailchimp and Brevo
- Fewer integrations available
- The automation features do not allow exit automations
- Reporting is less comprehensive
What I love about MailerLite is its no-nonsense approach. It doesn’t try to be everything to everyone, instead focusing on doing email marketing really well. For small to medium-sized businesses that don’t need all the bells and whistles, it’s an excellent choice.
After years of using these platforms, I’ve come to realize that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.
Mailchimp remains the most versatile and feature-rich option, making it ideal for businesses that want room to grow.
Brevo shines for those who need an all-in-one marketing solution with flexible pricing.
MailerLite, on the other hand, is perfect for those who prioritize simplicity and affordability.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on your specific needs, budget, and growth plans. I recommend taking advantage of the free trials offered by each platform to get a feel for their interfaces and features before making a decision.
The most important thing is not the tool you use, but how effectively you use it to connect with your audience and grow your business. Happy emailing!
